I (Mark Stafford) am a Software Architect for Extend Health, Inc. In my day-to-day job, I direct a team of some of the smartest programmers I’ve ever met. Less frequently, I advocate for new solutions, innovations, and processes I believe will result in a direct benefit for my company. I leverage a comparatively long history of administration and development experience to make my recommendations, but most importantly I attempt to craft a business case for every argument. It screens some of the worst ideas and strengthens or alters the better ideas.
The intent of this blog is to chronicle one IT guy’s attempt to understand and communicate across the divide to the business side. As such, there should be very few technical posts here that lack a statement of a business case. And maybe, just maybe, someone reading this blog might someday hear angels singing.
